SMKA Presents the Hangout

SMKA Presents the Hangout

SMKA gave indie artist the opportunity to spit there best hot sixteen over some killer beats. From February 7-10th, some of Hip Hops hottest and most promising artist were invited to hang out at SMKA’s Studio 882. Artist were welcome to hop on a track, calab with other artist, and participate in a cypher  if they had the balls. NO GUTS NO GLORY, cause artist who participated had a chance of being heard, and getting their five minutes. All of the tracks were being produce for the “The Hangout “, a two part project with part one  set to be released  March 26th 2013. I must say it was something different to see, all those artist, who never met, in one place to hop on a track, did I mention it was free studio time. To all you up and coming artist with a limited budget, if you missed it, it probably sucks to be you right now.

The Hang Out compilation features more than 50 different artists on 20 original records produced entirely by 808 Blake and Kato of SMKA. The Hang Out showcases the depth of talent, and diversity, that makes Atlanta’s hip-hop community the most creative and influential in the world.

Let me just say, it wasn’t an event, as I had been reminded a few times over the course of 4 days, we were all just hanging out, and those turkey dogs…….was so good I could have smacked everybody in that studio.

Lighters up to SMKA for giving back to the artist, and of course there is never enough energy if Fort Knox is not in the building. Shot out to Knox. You can check out a sneak peak of Part 1 of the project below.
